Colors of my past
I scribbled in the sky
I colored in the grass
I put you in my bookbag
To take with me to class.
The colors that you spoke
Were different than the rest
My family did not like you
But I thought you were the best.
They said you wasted time
That you made such a mess
But once I took your lid off
You put me to the test.
As time went on
I got older and so did you
And when I took your lid off
your colors did not shine through.
So because I still love you
And think you are the best
I still have you resting
in the top drawer of my desk!
