Daddy's Little Girl
She gazes at daddy's face with eyes as round as the moon.
Cradles herself in his heavy arms, wearing him like her cocoon.
She lays there still and silent as silk
listening to his heave breaths.
And such a loneliness crept upon her,
an absence that stung like death.
Don't cry, daddy's little girl.
Daddy will be okay.
You're all he has, so stay strong like time.
Things will be better one day.
She gazes at daddy's face with eyes as round as the moon.
