Before Thoughts Have Been Thunk
Before thoughts have even been thunk in your mind
They're locked away elsewhere, somewhere hard to find
Lurking in shadows of things seen through your eyes
Piled behind memorization and lies
You have a hint of it every now and again
Flashes of inspiration, genius when
Fog lifts from your brain, it all becomes clear
You're in tune with your morals, your values and fear
Things lock into place, and you're sure, you know
You've observed, you've inferred there's an ebb and a flow
There's a story, an emotion, you're sure, you know it
You write it with truth- congrats, you're a poet
