Last in line live the liars,
Last in line live the thieves.
Last in line do I wait
For my heart to believe.

To rectify the abandonment
And trust you again.
I see nothing but dark
And with it the steady amen.

The Pope's own denial,
And the monks giving way
To the Protestant motion
Of tomorrow's new day.

A scribe due to fate,
I sit and I laugh.
I write down every word
In your behalf.

I donated my soul
To a city's forestall.
Here we are Cloyes,
Here now we fall.

in no way a poem about Catholicism. ha its about the Children's Crusade, and Stephen of Cloyes.

This poem is fantastic!  I have a particular liking for poems that allude to history, or are about history, so I really liked this.  The flow is great, the rhyme almost perfect, and the message interesting and powerful.  Great job!

Oh, the Children's Crusade was an abomination. But this was a beautiful poem, nice rhyme and rhythm, good flow.  Nice job.
