Guilt
Like watching someone perish when you know that you can help.
Like knowing you can speak but never uttering a yelp.
Like calling for a loved one when you know that they're not there
Like reaching for a dream but only grasping open air.
A waiting, watching terror
That feeds on fear within.
A writhing, rotting wearer
of the garment of your sin.
A helpless, hopeless wanderer
That screeches as you pass.
A scheming, evil ponderer
whose job is to harass.
The pair of watching eyes
that urge you to do right.
Those which battle all the lies
to help you see the light.
