I Just See Nightmares
Can you tell from the expressions on my face that I sleep but dont dream,
For when I close my eyes,
Nightmares of life arise,
From the darkness,
And though a white light shines,
Terror seeks and happiness is blind,
Demons and devils and dungeons and rebels all spring free in the dark abyss,
Tossing and turning and sweating and burning,
My body is allowed movement while my eyes are dismissed,
My blood still flows slowly like the night air,
But I sleep and dont dream,
I just see nightmares.
