Just a seed
Underneath the ground I wait
It's been dry seven days straight
Just waiting for a drop of rain
Falling upon the soil of Maine
One day I wish to grow real tall
Hopefully in the season of fall
My leaves shall be a rich orange-red
But come winter they'll all be dead
The arms of my trunk will sway in the wind
Seeing the colors of the rainbow bend
But for now I wait for that special day,
When I will see the children play
Here I wait.
