I had my hardships and tears: money to hard to earn
When the labor of picking up strawberries to gardening the fields
Are my earnings, blown into my life full of love and pain?
Faking a smile, thinking optimistically of abuse
Runs through my history, echoes of voices in my mind
My heart ached, yet still strong for furthermore pain
To learn from the past, holding my head high
As the sky above me, moves throughout the day

I was given lies to protect myself from throbbing
I was made to be secure who I am, as life gets tough
Never to change who I am, to embrace my smile
To allow no one to take advantage of me, only to cherish me

I worked hard to be here not there, to the dead
My past never does fade away like a breath
That would keep on coming until you do take the last of it
And by than, whenever I do take my last breath
I would be swollen with pride of all of my pain and the love
Given by me and me giving to others as…
I know my life is imperfect like me
As everyone is, inadequate
