Sunrise On Our Day
Calm the seas put out the flame,
It’s finally time for these tears to tame.
Beat still my heart as tensions rise,
Listen dear moon for my labored cries.
Neither words nor dreams can stop this fate,
Even now I fear it is growing late.
So my friends put down your signs,
Raise your voices and recite my lines.
‘We stand together hand in hand,
Our hope should spread throughout the land.
Reach through our space and our time,
To still the hearts of the silent mime.
For we are all one and the same,
Our hearts are not each other’s to maim.’
Speak true my brothers let no lies escape,
Cry out my sister’s brush off your dark cape.
Now grab each other’s hands in song,
Fear not how loud or how long.
Pack all emotion into this one fatal cry,
Pull fast now this long lasting tie.
Till death rip us apart do we step down,
Casting away this over jeweled crown.
Only then we shall lay,
And let the sun set on our day.
