as i sit on the cusp of midnight
As i sit on the cusp of midnight
as my tears fall like rain
as i count the moments till forever
i try not to staunch wounds with more pain
as i lay in the bowl of morning
as i drink up the blue of the sky
as i swim in the gold of sunlight
i never stop to wonder why
as i tie up the ribbons of twilight
as my body feels splintered an bruised
as i paste on my misfit countenance
its hard not to feel a little used
as i sit on the cusp of midnight
as the day peels ‘way to night
better think twice if first you thought
I'd ever give up this fight
