The springtime breezes called him
Beyond the clouds above
And though it be with tear-washed eyes
We’ll think of him with love

The breath of autumn sweeps his grave
And leaves fall round his stone
As night fades into grey-filled day
We know he is at home

As we near his special day
I can his face recall
I think of all his happy smiles
And laughter in the fall

Our memories are his ghost
And through them he’ll live on
Remember well, who loved him most
To them, he’s never gone

Sometimes, death comes quickly, and we don't get to say goodbye. We don't get to tie up those loose ends. Sometimes, we have to find another way to say farewell. This is mine.

Make no little plans. They have no magic to stir your blood.

Wow, this is beautiful.  It does hurt when we don't get the chance to actually say "good-bye." But the peace you have about him being "home" is wonderful. That is a "blessed assurance" for me as well. Someday, we will see those loved ones again.
