Subsidence
You played me like a drum
Until I missed a beat
Then your intent was not as deceit
The flag has come down
The fight is done
However no one ever truly won
No longer can I have temptation
To wait for my phones illumination
To see another’s name is too much frustration
Your silence fostering my desperation
You are a drug to my self-destructing heart;
A medicine to a broken heart;
A slow corrupting envenomed poison
I am remembering your hazel eyes
While caught in this dependency I am being forced to abandon
So to you here lies my lost goodbye
