Dusty Lenses MAG
Dusty Lenses
(Written in response to a photo exhibition of an AIDS demonstration in Washington, D.C.)
Looking through dusty lenses
Only to see the shadows,
The ashes of the innocent
Ashes of sadness.
A heart pierced
With rugged pain,
A sky full of the tears
For the beloved below.
A plague so evil
Bringing only pain and loneliness
To those who lost their
Friends
Family
Brothers
and
Sisters.
A sacred ground
Littered with tears
Looking through those dusty lenses
Cannot focus the peace and warmth.
The sun shuns us.
The sun shuns us.
