I'Ve Been There MAG

By Anonymous

   i've been there

All around me

pens move

left to right

yet mine lay

still.

I don't have a

Special

Place.

I have seen the beautiful sunrise

Our hearts beating as one

in the seats of the Caravan.

The sun set as quickly as the

tears

ran

down

my

face

forcing me into

REALITY.

Nothing Lasts Forever

was proven true

- that night in June when love quickly ended

- that night in July when a perfect friendship

was moved to Boston

- that night in October when the slow song ended

and I had to open my eyes and let go.

The smoke stung my eyes,

The Barenaked Ladies rang in my ears,

and the sand that was under my fingernails

was the only memory of a

Summer Fling.

Taking the dare

I paid the consequences

That still brings a smile to my face.

Playing the games

that high school students play

I guess I lost, because I can't quite remember.

Hearing the pens moving

left to right

I pick mine up to write ...

I've been there.
