Recess
Dismisall bell rings
Doors open wide
Chase me through the grass
Follow me down the slide
Over the jungle gym
Under the trees
Sit high on monkey bars
Feel the cool breeze
Hang upside down
Bounce on the teeter totter
Hide under the playset
Jump over pretend water
Hunt giant dinosaurs
Fly in the wind
With special super powers
Nothing beats a game of pretend
Small hearts find happiness
In the blink of an eye
Yet such little things
Can make a young one cry
Naïve can be a blessing
Big eyes on small faces
Pink cheeks and baby fat
Small hands curl round large spaces
When recess comes to an end
Small feet form a line
And pitter patter to class
Ready for nap time!
