Unrequited Love
I keep the walls up for a reason
And the doors always locked
To keep anyone from getting in
And taking what doesn’t belong to them.
The tears were never worth it
The hurtful words you screamed
Neither were ever able to catch up to me.
It’s funny how you think I care
About the way you cut your hair
Or the way you hold her in front of me
Just trying to provoke some tears.
The days are gone, the nights have passed
You’re not the first and you won’t be the last
