Her Lullaby
I remember your voice.
Quietly spoken into my little ears.
They spoke of hope, dreams; never letting go.
I never quite understood.
Matured, aged.
Years of pain and strife, curiosity. Wishing that I would see you again. Imagining who you were.
A lullaby.
Oh, how I loved your voice.
It always did stir gracefully in my head.
Only a mere memory.
Broken down by the time passed. Shaped and formed by illusions of what I dreamed you were.
Words strung on a tune.
A tune emitted using not only breathe, but with love.
This is what I remember you by.
This rhythmical lyric.
That I will cherish until the day I see your face again.
