He looked at me like I was perfect. Like I was more than the pain I’d endured. I didn’t understand why. I just knew he made me feel like I wasn’t alone. I’ve never met someone like him before. His touch feels like home and his smile is the purest I’ve ever seen. He makes the darkness inside of my heart want to let go. Even when I'm lost in fear, I feel sheltered and safe when he’s there. Although I've spent my life running from love, he gives me the courage to at least try. I hope he knows he’s my sky, stars, and universe. I hope he knows he’s my everything that makes the whole world. I want nothing more than to feel his love. To look into his eyes while the sun goes down, To hold him in my arms as night turns to morning, To kiss his lips until my heart overflows with joy, To listen to his voice until my last breath gives out. For his love is the only thing I have ever longed for. The only thing I’ve ever searched for. Longing and looking with very little hope left. He found me. He found the part of me I thought no one would ever see. The part of me that loved, The part of me that always seemed to have a smile on her face, The part of me that only wanted the best for herself, and The part of me that was a little girl again… See, loving him never felt like a thing I had to do. I didn’t have to love him, But I wanted to. I wanted to because he felt like a gasp of air after being drowned, He felt like walking into a warm house after being in the cold for a long time, He felt like the sun on a cloudy and rainy day, He felt like a nap right after a bad day. He felt like HOME. Home isn’t just a place with four walls and a roof. Home is a person. A person who makes you feel safe. Someone who never judges you for being you or doing what you love. Someone who supports you and lifts you up when you are feeling down. I long for his love. I have always loved him. I loved him before I had ever touched his skin. My eyes flutter when I see him. My heart swarms with butterflies when he speaks to me. My knees go weak when he kisses my head and tells me “It’ll be okay, baby.” For as long as my body lives, as long as my eyes can see, as long as my bones are not broken, I will love him. I see who he is and who he will truly be. When my eyes do not see anymore, my eyes do not flutter at the sight of him.. For when I stop loving him, I am dead.
