Season Ender
The bleached white spherical ball
Struck against her hand
She slammed the ball down
It becoming one with the rigid maroon floor
The ball barreled by
Right in between our deep crimson jerseys
Splintered tears filled my cavernous brown eyes
The vivid red “14” blinking on the scoreboard above us
Turned “15” despite our efforts
A sea of happy faces from the crowd across from me
The one behind me though…
Was filled with despair
The magnificent story came to an end
Without the gleaming gold around our necks

This piece was hard for me to write because it was the section championship game that we lost. It was also my last game with our seniors, specifically the last point of the game.
