Listen for the sound of a living earth
Of a growing weed
Of a bird shell cracking
Of a sprouting seed
Of a north wind blowing
Of rivers southward flowing
Of a child's first breath
Of a rowboat rowing
Of a life coming forth
And one taken away
Of a lion wild
And a little dog tame
And once you gather these
Sounds dark, sounds bright
Understand you are hearing
The sounds of life
