A Poem for Friends
Peace in our minds
In the way that we talk
In the way that we run
In the way that we walk
Strength in our bones
In the way we go on
In the way that we stand
In the way that we bond
Health in our hearts
In the way that we share
In the way that we love
In the way that we care
Kindness in our hands
In the way they can hold
In the way they support
In the wind and the cold
Determination in us both
In the way we persevere
In the way we converse
In the way that we’re here
Death comes to us
From the darkness we hold
From the pain that we keep
From our words far too bold
But things are looking up
Despite not being fine
Despite losing close friends
Despite the passing of time
Life becomes real
With the moments we keep
With the people we love
With the tea that we steep
So continue on my friend
Enjoy skies painted blue
Enjoy puzzles and pudding
Enjoy grass filled with dew
And know without doubt
I’m always here for you
