Stop the Madness
Sitting at home,
Watching the news,
Shootings, rapes,
Births of animals at zoos.
But one specific topic,
Seems to catch my eye.
It’s something that hurts everyone,
And makes me want to cry.
Protestors surround the white house,
Holding signs and yelling out loud.
Is this the sort of action we take,
To make our country proud?
This is pathetic!
21 thousand troops?
And issued draft?
I don’t think so.
I listen to my worried friends’ cries.
“I don’t want to lose my brother,”
“I don’t want to lose my friend.”
I myself think aloud,
“I could lose my cousin, why can’t this just end?”
My family lost a loved one,
To the Wars over in Iraq.
And just 15 days later,
He was supposed to be coming back.
But one thing he said,
Before he died.
That he told his father,
He wanted him to be aware.
“It isn’t all bad stuff dad,
We are doing good things over there”
I couldn’t tell you,
What I think of this War,
For my opinion seems to change everyday.
And I can’t take it anymore.
I’m sick of hearing about death!
I’m tired of hearing the news!
I don’t want to constantly wonder,
Why we’re over there anyway.
Why help people that don’t want help?
Why continue this suffering?
Can you promise that in the end,
Peace is what this will bring?
Protests.
Angry Families
Lost Hope
Yelling
Tears
Death
Stop the madness…
JUST STOP THE MADNESS!
Stop the damn madness!!
…
This country can’t take anymore.
