Light in Eternal Dark
Lost in the forest
Wandering aimlessly
Till the end of my rope
Eternal night came
With a hefty breeze
As I started to numb
I knew I would freeze
Grimly, I searched all around
To see if a glimpse of salvation
If any, could be found
But all that was gathered
Was stones and leaves
And as I started to cry
I fell to my knees
Yet through rivers of sorrow
A flash caught my eye
A silver lighter
Abandoned but dry
My soul shared the spark
As the flame came alight
Warmth engulfed me
As I traveled through the night
But as the gale grew furious
The flame was extinguished
If the breeze continued
I knew I’d be finished
But when the wind stops
The flame will stay
Always by my side
To keep the reaper at bay
