The Doll
A doll was made one night
It’s hair combed back
And it’s hair tucked tight
It sat on a shelf
Gathering dust
Until a girl came along
Gaining its trust
But the girl was not kind
Nor was she fair
As she tugged on its arms
And pulled out it’s hair
Days turned to weeks
Weeks turned to months
Yet somehow the doll
Had survived the girls stunts
After this torture
The girl was inspired
She tossed it from her roof
The doll was retired
It sat there lifeless
Hidden in the weeds
Until a new girl came along
To maintain the dolls needs
She took the doll home
And pulled out her kit
The stitching was tightened
Where it previously been split
Before she was done
She washed the dolls face
The doll was loved
And she was it’s saving Grace
