Waiting for the sound to come around
My heart beats fast, a train down the tracks
Hitting anything that's in its way.
Our pinkies intermingle, and we look ahead;
Staring at the stars and stripes
He sings a tune for our country that's new
Calming down those butterflies.
Taking a breath, I wave and I smile
Playing for the memories that’ll last for a while
