You say I'm your best friend.
Even though I want to be so much more.
You say you love me, just not that way.
When I love you with all my heart.
You say you aren't good enough.
I say you are worth the wait.
You say your damaged goods.
I believe I can fix you, if you let me.
You say you can't love anyone but him.
I think with enough time to heal, you'll learn you can love me too.
But then our time was cut short when he showed up in your life again.
And now I fight for your love, attention and most important, the safety of your soul.
