The Junkyard
Once I walked in, my first thought was that…
The Junkyard is such a mess,
and that wasn't even my second guess,
It's not at all sweet, although sometimes,
I think it smells a bit like wheat,
Dirty socks all-around take a sniff, a slight tiny whiff,
It's like giving your nose a really mean diss,
The Junkyard is such a mess,
It's like a mannerless birds nest,
I stepped on the books on the floor, the ones scattered all around,
Just like skipping stones that just fell on the ground,
Towels on the door,
Toys on the floor,
The Junkyard is such a mess,
There on the bed lay a dress,
Covers on the floor,
Taps overflowing, like the seashore,
books under the bed,
Not a single even read,
A dead fish who was unfed,
The Junkyard is such a mess,
But the bedroom is mine, I meekly confess.
I made this poem in 5th grade. and I have left it how it is. I'm ready to publish.
