"Eyes"
If you look at her eyes, you will see that she tries,
She tries and she lies, but no hard work ever applies
Only the lies apply the small white lies.
She cries and she tries to fight the lies,
The lies they ring, the lies they sing, around in her mind.
They keep her up, staring at the ceiling
The fears and tears the only thing keeping her feeling.
If you look into her eyes you will see that she waits
She waits for the fakes, and she fakes until she makes. She fakes until
The fake breaks those “pretty” little eyes until no emotion shows
Until those “pretty” eyes only show tales of woe.
If you look into her eyes, you will see the eyes that stare
Some eyes care but some eyes scare
They scare until she tears, she tears and tears until there is nothing left to repair
She learns her lesson, yet trust still lessons, and lessons
The trust lessons, but she never seems to learn a single lesson
If you look into her eyes you will see the things kept secret
The things that are locked away in a little box in her mind
The things no one ever cared to find
There's a little girl in that box kicking and screaming
Only wanting to find some kind of meaning
She tried to open the box locked away in her mind
Only one person had the key
They had the key, and they saw what they needed to see
Then they were gone, and she knew she was wrong
She was wrong for letting them see, all that she wanted and needed to be
All of the secrets locked tight
The secrets that keep her up at night
All of the screams and the dreams that never seem to go
But nobody knows no. body. Knows
If you look into her eyes you will see that she really does try.

It's an Identity piece. I feel as if it could be relatable for other teens. It is about me, but it still might be a little relatable. If I am being honest I had a horrible case of writer's block before this. The way I got over it was by being forced to write poetry for my English class. I am very grateful for being forced to do that because I found my love for slam poetry or poetry in general. I am so glad my teacher recommended me this sight and recommended that I put my poetry out there because I would have never done it myself. I really hope you guys enjoy my piece called "Eyes".
