Equality
Equality, in its name's sake and present time
Is contaminated liquid seeping down the drain
That withered hands stretch towards longingly
However fast, they come back dry
Ever waiting to have their thirst quenched
Remaining, waiting, dying
Now and again hands will succeed
Obtaining some of this precious liquid
When it just tastes bitter and burns like poison on the lips
Only reflecting in its dangerous depths
Rotten smiles and hands waiting to scratch or cover their ears
Never tears
Equality, where have you really gone?
Vapidly, we cry, for we are still so thirsty
Ever waiting for you to become less
Rotten
