Trapped in a Box
Trapped in a box
A box so clear
Yet so avoidable
Can’t anyone hear?
Shouting for someone
But everyone ignores
One batting an eye,
But they never explore
Isolated from the world
How lonely can it get?
How much longer
Until someone doesn’t forget
That I’m standing right here
In a box so clear
Yet so avoidable
Is anyone there?

I first got the inspiration for this piece after thinking about a concept trailer I've watched before. Remembering how the Soobin (the boy with the red shirt trapped in the clear box) reacted to the situation he was put in, this trailer really hit a personal part of me. Growing up in constant isolation and having little to no friends, I decided to write a poem about isolation and loneliness since it's something I know quite well.
