Goodbye Moonlight
The crescent moon
Sails behind a pitch black cloud
And everything,
Then shades of grey
Is bathed in absolute darkness
Black, pitch and pure
The color of fear
When you can’t see your hand
in front of your face
Shaking in fright
You can’t see anything
And the darkness presses against you
Against your heart,
Against your lungs
You can’t breathe
Your heart can’t beat
You feel helpless
And then the moon is through
With her disappearing act
She’s back
And you’re back to normal
As is the world
Goodbye darkness,
Hello moonlight
