Stolen Innocence
I’m
slipping beneath cool waters, the outside placid,
though torrents roar like churning acid.
“full-mixt” to my lips, I drink
burning a chasm in throats of men.
I’m
wading into my thick thoughts;
(“all souls take as time allots”)
inching my poison towards your cup:
stirring painfully… till night ends.
I’m
cresting waves of certain doom;
passing hours in these halls of gloom;
striking first blow so her lover falls;
Mooring my hopes in these ancient walls.

I've been writing poetry and song lyrics for years. Both are grand escapes, helping me dive away from the rockiness of life and into another, more beautiful (and sometimes scarier) world. I love the multifacetedness of verse, the ebb and flow of it, and how it helps us relate to each other in stunning ways. It brings us closer, which I honestly find so precious. My goal is to bring light with my words, shining into dark spaces.
