On a Bright Summer's Day
On a bright summer’s day
A girl and her dog went out to play
They played with the Frisbee and ball all day long
Surely there isn’t anything wrong
On the way home, the girl went to pick some flowers
For what seemed like so many hours
Red, blue, green, and yellow the colors are
Their scent can be smelled from afar
The dog rolled in the grass, so delighted
That the world here is so enlightened
The girl and her dog went home
Never feeling alone
When they came home, the girl gave the flowers to her mother
And also made sure that the flowers didn’t clutter
“Happy Birthday!” said the girl
“Thank You!” said the mom, giving her daughter a twirl
At night when she went to bed, the girl thought happily of what she did today
And hoped that all of her mom’s birthdays will be the same way
