Cut to Scar
A cut is there till it scabs
A scab is there till it scars
A scar is there till it fades
A faded scars story stays
No matter what time of day
The story stays
No matter how many years, months, weeks
The story stays
It is the mark of a fighter
Someone brave
Someone who worked hard
Someone who cared
But at last the story’s words
Get harder to speak
The story is now just a faint memory
Then like magic it’s gone
When your grandchildren say
Can you tell us a story you’ll go
I can about a scar
But in the end
You tell them you can’t remember
They look at you all sadly and say
Grandmother it’s okay
But even you can see the sadness in their eyes
They story they wanted to hear
Is gone
