Where I'm From
I am from the 6 acres of land, From the pastures filled with mares and foals.
I am from the wagons of hay,
from the summer days taking their toll.
I am from the family gatherings, Where 50 people fill one room.
I am from prayers before dinner, Preventing us from death's doom.
I am from church on Sundays,
From the pews in the back of the church.
I am from the drawn out sermons,
Where through our souls the pastor would search.
I am from the house full of kids,
Where the laughter is heard and found.
I am from the country house living,
Where at night there's no noise...not a sound
