Daddy
Trapped in his own mind
words he chooses not to speak
he feels so alone
a real life is what he seeks
He has everything
right before his eyes
but he drinks and yells
and she dies a little inside
A girl that sits and watches her father
be unhappy and depressed
she tries to help
but there is nothing he'll confess
He says she is a mistake
and she shouldn't be here
she brings him another beer as told
with eyes full of tears
I'm sorry Daddy
for whatever I did
and that you hate me
give me a chance,
I'm only a kid
You'll never know
what your drinking does to me
you're always so drunk and angry
you're never sober to see
I know you've been through a lot
and things aren't the way they should be
but Dad, I hurt inside, too
do you EVER think about me?
I will always love you
deep down inside
but the day you ever say it back
I won't be alive
