The Longest August MAG
Silhouettes
of crashing waves
and bitten moons
and liquid bodies
trying to be free.
And I will sing
your final hallelujah
all the way down
to a volatile green
morning
somewhere far off from this shore.
See, it was never about
the ways that you could change
beneath a great gray wandering
midnight
but about realizing the
ocean
that has been in you
all along.
I could be the girl
jumping out of
moving boats
and climbing up
a pitch dark scandal
in my mind
or in my hand
for a summer.
