Shattered
Do you know what it is like
to have everything fall apart?
For worlds to spin and hell
to brew and leave you in the dark?
Do you understand why the
tears flow down my darkened
cheek. Or why I gave up on
life before you and I could meet.
Would like to try and see the world
through my chocolate hued eyes.
How would you like to see
what makes me lay down and cry?
Maybe you’d understand me and
why I circumnavigated this route.
Or maybe you won’t—
maybe you won’t grasp the truth.
For my life has shattered like a
glass that an infant mercilessly
drops to the ground. The glass
separates many times over-infinitely.
For there was one thing that could
change me. For good, or for worse.
But I failed myself and that is why
I have succumbed to this curse.
