Best Friends Forever
I miss you.
I miss being little and playing barbies.
I miss our popcorn wars.
I miss playing mermaid in the pool.
I wish we could go back,
before makeup and
before boys and
before wristbands and
before studded belts.
I love you.
I loved playing house and
I loved watching movies and
I loved planning our lives out and
I loved our bikes with streamers and baskets...
but at the same time
I love our trips to hot topic
I love our sharing of poems
I love singing Slipknot lyrics,
without the music...
I love sharing our sparkly eyeliner and
I love contemplating blue and purple hair dye
and
I love what we used to have,
I love what we have, and
I already love
what we will have.
This is what it means,
to be a best friend.
