Honestly
How do we love others, but don't love us
Steady acting pure, get mad, and then cuss
Forever speaking peace, but in private, we only fuss
The lies of the honest make my heart wanna bust
Into many peices, never again to be found
Because this world continually resonates the devastating sound
Of the lies that give birth to iron chains, that gag and bound
Those of us who wanna be more than a prisoner held fast to the ground
These are the war cries of those who strive for true life
Not a world of darkness that only leaves the feeling of strife
The very tone of this thought slices like a cold knife
And yet there is hope, like the hope of newly-wed husband and wife
In this instance there is hope of love
Not easily broken, a little bit is more than enough
Because although the task of healing the wounds of dishonesty is tough
Real love is honest, no matter how rough
The keyword is real, something a lie could never be
If you ever think otherwise, then stop and you'll see
That it don't work out, it's too concrete
The truth is an open sky, it'll let you fly free
