A Special Time
“Orders up”
Calls the B.D.I. worker
My sister pushes to the front
But my mom holds her back
Saying it’s my special day
And I should go first
We grab our tasty treats
Walking toward the bridge
Just the three of us
We’re gazing out
At the water beneath us
When the sun starts to set
Leaving a bright orange glow
We came here to celebrate
A very special day
A birthday
Just for me
I wouldn’t want to spend it
Any other way
Than with my mom and sister
