A Mother's Love
Sweet and pure
Like drops of honey
Love is there for sure
Everyday is bright and sunny
When evening comes
It’s all the same
Mother starts her beautiful hums
A mother’s love isn’t a game
When children get older
Things start to change
The child gets colder
To mother it’s strange
When children turn away
From their mother’s gaze
Yet still every day
A mother’s love will not phase
Children become distant
They become annoyed
They become resistant
Then grows the void
The void that they never realize
That can never be filled
But really the mother is the prize
That ultimately makes them thrilled
A mother’s love is what they need
To actually feel complete
A mother’s love is what plants the seed
That gives them what’s sweet
A mother’s love is unconditional
She will always do what’s best
It’s not traditional
It’s just her quest
She wants her child to be happy
She wants her child to have a good life
Sometimes she can be nasty
Sometimes her heart may seem like a knife
But deep down she really cares
She waits to see her child’s dreams come true
Nothing can really compare
For she knows they will come through
After years go by
It’s really then the child can see
The mother really did try
That the mother’s love is really the key
