Unpacking
My home is filled with boxes from the time I first moved in.
I've decided to unpack them - guess what I found within!
I found a box of school supplies, pocket knives and rocks,
The writing of my grandparents, Obama and John Locke,
Photographs of lovers past, Madonna and Darth Maul,
Mugs from two of my best friends, a teddy bear and doll,
A sign demanding basic rights, underpants and shoes,
My prized possessions, art from second grade and dried-up glue,
A grade report marked up in red from high school English class
demanding proper comma usage. Why didn't I pass?
