The Infernal Ruler
I ventured into the furnace of Hell.
When I arrived, I was weak and crying,
and I trembled as I watched the flames swell.
I saw mankind’s true nature belying
the rotting facade from the world above.
I considered it as I lay dying.
I saw an animal destitute of
the characteristics it relied on:
no beauty, no wisdom, no strength, no love.
The infernal ruler is mankind itself,
whose ideals are performed and whose true nature is forgone.
