Is life simple as beginning and end?
Is life just a straight line, or does it bend?
Belief in the first makes one’s life a bore,
While the latter allows one’s soul to soar.
Life is a chain of experiences,
Full of great truths among false pretenses.
When the latter is dwelled on, there is strife;
Strife with oneself, strife with all in one’s life.
However, he who follows the former,
Lives a life of joy, a life much warmer.
It’s easy to focus on mistakes made,
It’s easier yet to do as you’re bade.
But it’s those who focus not on the past,
It is those who hold to their heart steadfast,
That to the world are sincerely giving,
For they ‘lone aren’t existing, but living.
The diff’rence isn’t as subtle as appears;
After all is over, and the dust clears,
Those who truly live, live on after death,
But those who exist, die ‘fore their last breath.
