Bittersweet Summer Burns
Tick tock, tick tock. Goes the world, uncaring.
I wish upon my heart for it to stop,
But they pass, summer-summer, unerring.
Cause broken things can't ever unstop
someone's heart, nor their soul or their life
when they're all alone in their own dark.
Carrying such massive and horrible strife.
Ready to go up with a single spark,
Just like a field of summer's dry grass.
About to burn up, lost forevermore.
Shattered like a heart made of discarded glass,
Gone, with no place in this world anymore.
Burning up from summer's indelible heat
and so they've ended. Bittersweet?
