Drowning
Dead
Choking, coughing, scared
The water fills my lungs
My thoughts begin to drift to goodbye
My heart slows and my stomach drops
I see the sun light start to fade
I feel the numbness set in
I hear the bubbles escaping my respiratory system slow
I taste sweet serenity as I shift into my passing
My senses lie and I smell the wild flowers on a spring morning
I close my eyes and prepare to meet my Father
When the sun suddenly blinds me
I feel my ribs crack and move to the rhythmic pushes
I hear yelling and worrisome cries
I taste the lips of a woman wearing cherry chap stick
I smell the lake and barbeque
Choking, coughing, scared
Air begins to fill my lungs
My heart beats rapidly and I drift back to reality
Alive
