Blacklight
Underneath the dark
The selective lights
Ray down the dancers
Call upon their fright
The self-awareness
Is art uncensored
The skull and bones
The holy mentor
Their erotic majesty
Seems tantalizing gold
Yet where their pain begins
Is where the story unfolds

I wrote this piece while working one day, bored at a supermarket. This is inspired by both The Greatest Showman, which I watched shortly before writing this, and the black light shows my elementary school used to put on. The dancers are heavily allegorical, yet every time I read this thye mean something else to me. Hope you are provided the same experience. Con amor!
