The Apsara Dance
In Cambodia, the traditional Khmer dance originates from the royal court, used historically for ceremonial propitiation and entertainment. The most classical and popular dance, is the Apsara, performed by Khmer women and girls. Before her union with the wise man, Kambu, the Apsara Mera dances in an enchanting flower garden, where her beautiful movements attain an almost ethereal and heavenly quality.
