An Unwelcome Visitor
On the western plains, the diamond-back rattlesnake is a common sight. Most times you can hear them before you can see them. Prarie dogs, mice and small rabbits are favorite meals for these unwelcome visitors.
Although they are poisonous, rattlesnacks serve a very important service as they keep the rodent population down and ballance the "Cycle Of Life" on the Southwestern Plains.
